Designed and fabricated by one of Coupler's in-house builders, Matthew Guenther built a piece that was intended to perform several functions in a limited amount of space. Influenced by 70's modern design, this sectional unit brings together a desk/workspace, open display shelving for books and/or art, and a credenza for hidden storage. A steel frame capped in solid walnut allowed Guenther to use a single leg on each side of the bookshelves, giving a lightweight look that does not overwhelm the living environment. Each board was hand picked and placed within the piece to achieve maximum aesthetic value. Even though it was built as a sectional, it can be redesigned to accommodate very specific needs.
